Hi guys, finally got new lock cylinder in but thought I should try and fix the sloppy steering wheel. Anyone know how? What I mean is when you grab the wheel the wheel and upper colum have a fair amount of slack.(movement in all directions) Is there a fix for this?

88 TC auto silver full load/sunroof 147K K&N cone filter, Gillis valve set at 17 lbs. This thing looks cool but is dog compared to my 87 5sp that now has motor out and is being rebuilt.(slowly)May make one killer car from these two yet.

Happened to mine......
Take off the steering wheel column cover.
Next, take off the blinker housing, under the blinker housing there are 2 bolts 1 on top and 1 on bottom(you will see which ones just shake the steering wheel and that will help) tighten them down and its all fixed!!

If you still have some play after that, you will have to replace the bearings in the tilt mechanism. It looks intimidating, but it's pretty easy to take apart.
