I just put 4 new shocks on the back. 2 Monroes and 2 quads. What a difference it makes, the quads were completely gone, and the other 2 were fairly new Gabriells. I decided to switch them all out anyway. I cant believe how much better the car feels, no more hop from the back. Smile Who says they dont make a difference lol....

Up next, ported head, t3/t4 upgrade.

Someday I'll have to replace mine, all they way around. I have 114K on the car now, and they feel obviously worn, but not one is leaking fluid or anything AKAIK. Though im not sure I could tell a bad shock if it bit me on the ass.

Im sure there are lots of opinions on this message board, that I'd have to search for when the day comes, but I'd really like to stick with the stock shocks and struts. I like to keep it stock, and I like the function of being able to switch the firmness with a switch.

I wonder if its possible to have then rebuilt? Im sure thats been asked too... You'd think that as the original stock dwindles, that would become more and more an option.

Brian, so far they are not rebuildable.
Do you run yours in "auto" mode or "firm" mode.
In auto mode they are going to feel pretty bouncy undernormal conditions. I ask because the original stuff is usually pretty long lived, usually beyond 114K

They do ride real cushy in suto mode. I usually have them in firm though. The less travel in firm mode is probably what has saved them.

They do seem to squeak and rattle a lot more in auto mode too!

Personally, i prefer the KYB struts and shocks, i dont think they'll have to be replaced as early as monroe or gabriels.

Personally i prefer KONI struts and shocks, they are adjustable and can be rebuilt by KONI when worn out.

IMHO it's not the struts. When I got mine with 73k on it it bounced horribly. NOS PRC struts and shocks did not make much of a difference.
I believe that's "just how it is". If you want the prc (I did so I bit the bullet on NOS) then go for it, but don't expect much of a difference.
I think these PRC's are very long lived. I gave my old ones to N8....haven't heard how he likes them though.

I got new springs, 20% stiffer, that helped alot.
