Hi Guys , Can someone describe to me how to go about changing the shifter handle on my 5 speed turbo coupe? Mine is wearing out and I would like to change it. Please if you can I need step by step describtion. Thanks Philb

"phillieb" - If you mean just the knob, just turn it counter-clockwise. It's just screwed on to the threaded shaft.

The entire shifter should just be held in by 4 bolts. Its as easy as taking it out, pouring a little trans fluid on the end of the new shifter then installing back in the shifter linkage (usually a hole)...you'll see it inside the trans.
If you're talking about replacing the shift handle (stick part) thats just two bolts. The factory stick has a rubber isolator that off sets the handle toward the driver. I don't like it because if you notice the handle rubs the floor board boot which in time will cause a hole. I elect for the shorter after market stick from "Pro-5.0". They bolt on without the rubber isolator so the stick doesn't rub the floor board boot. They're sold for Mustang T5 trannys but will work on our Tbirds. They're only $25 on ebay.
