Shell V-Power Gasoline

TC owners,
I have written a couple times about my car falling on its face over 3000 rpms in 4th and 5th gears. I haven’t had the time to get a new Fuel Pump in but I did put a tank of the Shell V-power premium in the car and I couldn’t believe the difference! For the first time in over two years I was able to peg the speedometer with full boost in 5th gear.
On the down side I was only able to get 200 miles out of the tank of gas:-(

BTW I work on a military base not associated with Shell in any way!

Could there be a relationship here? [Image: biggrin.gif]

What's the octane rating on this Shell gas?

Steve,
I was using premium gas from the military base, but even with 104 octane additive it wouldn't spin over 3000 rpms in 5th gear. I am going back tomorrow for a second tank to see if the better/normal performance (at least for me) continues.
