What is the little round thing that has a two wire connector and a rubber house. It is located just below the VAM bracket on the fender well?

Hey, sounds to me like you are talking about the boost control solenoid. 2 vacs and an electrical?
2.3L Turbo in 88 stang, browntops, 93 a4ld, volvo ic, broncoII rad, gillis valve set @15, k&n af.

nope, i dont think so..its one vac and an electrical..its round about 3 inches across

Maybe a broken BCS? Does the vacuum line run to the vicinity of the turbo? Made of plastic? Perhaps yours has a spot where the other plastic nipple broke off?

heh all..if you like at this picture it is right where jonathon has put his giggle gas controller at..you know that big purple doohickey. i think he must have relocated or removed the sensor i am talking about in order to mount that.

Yeah, that's exactly where the boost control solenoid is, right where that purple thing is mounted.
