A reason seats come apart is the thin floor flexes and breaks. Power seats usually don't this because they have a steel frame and the manual don't. I have seen many at the bone yard, seats mounted on power frames were in good shape, manual needed welding. Don't forget to brace the floor with some kind of reenforcement to prevent flexing. I used metal framing straps from my contractor days, good enough for an earthquake, should work.
83 dead bird, in pieces however I'm reading from the book of the dead, should be running soon.

Once upon a time Ford used to sell the replacement unit for the back of our seats. Due to the fact that we get in and usually put weight on the left side of the seat the back usuallt snaps low and on the left which gives us the lean. Personally I find it annoying, but since I am only 180lbs I don't lean too much on it and don't expect mine to break anytime soon. Shouldn't be too bad of a removal, and if you have a good welder, will be as good as new. Take care of youself and your back.
