Sealed Power Pistons (long sorry)

How does the members on this board feel about Sealed Power Forged piston? I am trying to find an alternative choice for our street driven turbo cars. I have ran Wisco pistons before and for the price I would just as soon use SealedPower(TRW). I beleive these are what was stock in these cars. Anyhow the sales rep. at Rock Auto is selling this forged Sealed Power piston for 117.50 a set shipped! Only ones available now are .020 oversize. However Sealed Power is setting up to run another batch of these in December. Then .020/.030/.040 will be available. Yes I know there is a weight difference in the SP vs Wisco,Aries,Venolia's but having the lower balanced should make them as reliable as the factory. Give me some feedback Guys. Denny

Denny, I'm running TRW .020 overs in mine. Unless you plan on spending a lot of time above 7 or 8 K rpms I don't think a few grams will make much difference. PS, I'll take a set at $117 + shipping - hint hint.

I just went to their website and it does show the L2500f piston but only in std bore.
Not many of these engines will be std bore when rebuilt. If the cyls are good enough that they don't need bored then you probably don't need new pistons.

I'm with Wes. If you don't need an overbore and the stock pistons are in good shape, reuse them as they can take a ton of HP.

Guys when you click on the buy option a drop window with special instructions appear. Then specify the over size wanted. Yes they are Forged and they only have .020's left. Got my confirmation today 117.61 shipped to my door. Also won an auction on E-Bay for a set of powerforged TRW's 137.50 these are .030's in case I blow a bore size. Also Wes 1mm is .03974 .5mm is .020 OK. Not being a smart ass (I convert metrics to dec. everyday) It's boring too.Pete they had 20 sets at SP warehouse, only .020 overs left and 3 pistons .040 over. (I need 4)
