I'd drain it first, using the method you stated above, then put in the fresh gas.

ok i drained and refueld the tank, nothing. ran the codes and got 21, 24, 28, 10 , 72 , i have different LA3 i could swap in. do you think that might accomplish something? when i got the car some idiot had the black wire from the alternator hooked to the single wire for the eec test?? could that have done something to the cpu???

Have you checked to see if the EGR is stuck open?

code 21. If the coolant was 50*F or lower during KOEO, this code will be set.
code 24: ACT sensor voltage out of range. Suspect the sensor or the harness
code 28: VAT out of range. If air temp was below 50*F or KOEO, it will set this code
code 72: I think that is a power interupt code???
Have you checked the plugs to see if they are wet or dry. If they are wet it isn't going to start.

do you mean wet with fuel??? because when i pulled 1# plug to check for tdc it was really wet with fuel.

Yes, I mean wet with fuel. If they are wet get a new set of plug - Autolite #764 coppers

ok i think i figured it out, compression readings as follows Cyl#1 120 #2 60 #3 120 #4 120
, i hope its just a head gasket, is it possible the cold expanding and contracting shook it loose? it was running a little on the warm side when i parked it. im gonna pull the head tomarrow and find out. thanks for all your help

Even with a popped head gasket it still should start and run. I would change the plugs and put a battery charger on it and see if I could get it started first just to rule out any other problems other than the head gasket. It would bite if you changed the head gasket and it still would not start. Just my 2 cents worth...Tommy

Just another thought. Since it sat for 2 months have you made sure a critter did not build a nest in the exhaust pipe or air intake? It is a long shot but possible. Just throwing suggestions out there on were to look...Tommy
