Just this last Saturday, my car sounded like the pads were shot on the rear driver side. Pete and I had noticed wear on the pass. side while changing the fuel pump, so I just ASSUMED that this side was going bad also. When the car developed a bad wobble 5 minutes later, I decided to check it for safety's sake. I popped the cap off the LR wheel and found, to my surprise, that not only had someone taken one bolt, the other three weren't even hand tight!!!!!!!! I'm afraid to think what would've happened on the highway with my boost addicted foot. Or if this was the one day Becky drove it somewhere without me! Why would someone do that?
Today, while Pete was over, I removed the cap again to re-check and/or tighten again. Upon tightening one of the 3 remaining bolts, one BROKE OFF with the threads in it!!!! Too much abuse while they were loose I guess. I didn't even tighten it hard, it just broke. All this after my CD's were stolen out of the same car!!! I think I need to sleep in this thing from now on. Too bad my garage isn't big enough for both of them. Besides, then they would just burn down the garage. Sorry, I don't mean to sound so paranoid, but, I haven't slept good in a week. Maybe I'll just put the locking bolts on them and forget it for now. Sheesh! What next?
Thanks for letting me vent... [Image: frown.gif]
