Ok as i was pulling my motor apart. I noticed a spot of rust about 12 inches long and about5 inched high under the brake booster. And after looking quite hard.i found that it's rusted almost all the way through.
Is it easy to fix without taking the brake stuff off or just to take it off to repair it. The motor is coming out anyway to get rebuilt anyway.

I would pull the break parts so you have a clear space to grind down the rust & repair it. More space = an easier job.

Even though you have to pretty much stand on your head to get at a couple of the brake booster nuts under the dash, it would make life a lot easier completing the rust repair....

Pulling the driver seat out makes it easier to get at the MC bolts, but it is still a MAJOR PITA. Lots of long extensions, U joints, etc make it a little easier.

This is what is going on with my car as well, assuming its alongs the frame rail side of the shock tower. I also suggest you take a good look at the same place on the passenger side, as mine was worse there, assuming because of the turbo heat.

If you dont get it fixed right, the shock towers will pull in and cause all kinds of havock with alignment settings. This is why I am probably going to end up parting my car [Image: frown.gif]
