What is your fuel pressure in 4th gear when the pinging happens? Any idea of the A/F ratio when it happens?
Until you can answer those questions you're pretty much running in circles.

Glowshift makes some cheap (price) but good quality gauges. Their widebands are probably the cheapest on the market (don't hold me to that), but they work great. I have all glowshift gauges and I know several people who run them now.

AEM kit on ebay is a great deal. I ran one in my old car and never had a problem. AEM is way easier to hook up than a LC-1 kit.
1987 TC 5 speed. To date: AGP 50 trim T3/T4 .63 stage 2 turbo, Ebay bov, 28psi, 255hp pump, Kirban FPR, Ebay Front mount, Full 3 inch Exhaust, Ported Bob's Log, Megasquirt, 55lb. injectors, boport 1.5 cam, boxed lower control arms, Methanol Kit, Ram HD Clutch, front lowered 1/2 inch and E.T. Streets for the track. Best so far 12.5 at 110.8. still tuning.

I'm using this... it looks cool also. However if you ever plan on tuning the EEC you will probably be better off with the LC-1 (ill update when i know for sure whether i can use the ACT input for logging)

Get the complete AEM wide kit from ebay. I bought a new one for $145. I used the bing discount(Dont now if they still have that) and it works great. Easy to install even for a non-electrical dork like myself. Look up AEM Gauge Type 6-in-1 Wideband Uego Controller 30-4100. They are now $167 shipped.
