Running Concern

OK, i realized after studying as to why my car was only making about 7 lbs of boost, was that i had some vacuum lines run the wrong way on the turbo.. However, i dont the blue butt splice connector for a temp way of seeing how could the turbo could push.. Start out it pulled good, but the boost didnt start kicking in til around 3000, i was getting 15-16lbs at around 5000, but after a couple more test runs, it started building boost up ti around 10lbs, then just bogs down real bad n starts puffin out black smoke. I dont know much on these cars, but i figured u guys would help me out.. Checked tps at .94..

Pull the vacuum hose off the fuel pressure regulator and see if there is gas or a strong smell of gas in it. If yes, change it.

OK pete, i'll try that later, would that be the cause for the boost coming in late? I've seen some of ya'll say that boost is almost instantly maxed at any rpm..

Given that you got no cat and a T3 + 2.5 pipes, maybe it's running way rich (black smoke) Also check the cam and then ignition timing

No cat, T3, and 2.5 inch exhuast into a flowtech muffler dumped at the rearend, timing was set at 12 with the spout out..

Checked regulator, no gas smell or gas running out of it.. Im lost guys, cam timing and ignition timing are ok.. New autolites, new ford plug wires, cap and rotor.. Any other suggestions?

Do you hear air sounds, like air escaping? If so check the intercooler hoses?
