Rough idle

Hi all,
I am having problems with my 88 TC. I have just replaced the motor with a fresh rebuild. I just finished assembling the car and decided to run the normal battery of tests. I started the engine and ran it to normal operating temperature, then shut it off. I ran the KOEO test and got codes 27, 42, and 72 for continuous memory. I tried to do the KOER test but as soon as I started the engine, it ran erratic and seemed like it wanted to stall. I couldn't even run the KOER because it kept stalling when the idle came down. I have checked the board for any posts on the error codes but I have come up empty handed. I have set the ignition timing to 10 degrees. I cleaned the EGR and IAC when the engine was out. The fuel filter in new. Besides the TPS, what else should I check for? Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Are the CM codes old (before the rebuild) or new?

For more info on the codes, check here:

I would check the TPS and then ty to run a good KOER

I am assuming they are not the old ones because the car didn't have a battery for almost a year. Wouldn't this clear the computer?

Stall during KOER is usually due to base idle set too low. With motor warm, unplug IAC electrical connector, and set base idle to 750 RPM using the throttle stop screw on the TB.

OK, here goes. After some diagnostics, I determined that the fuel pressure was too high. I replaced the FPR and am now able to get through a KOER test. I replaced the O2 sensor and the ECT. I am not getting any codes now yet the engine is still missing at idle. I adjusted the base timing and idle. I adjusted the TPS and tested it. The plugs and wires were new a week before I took the old engine out. I also tried unplugging the VAM which didn't make a difference. I could use some more help. Thanks in advance.

It weould help if you would give the codes, by section of the test- KOEO, CM and KOER. You may not have needed an 02. I would erase the cM codes and run it and see comes back. Have you put a vacuum gauge on it. What kind of plug wires and plugs are you using?

I am actually not getting any codes now. I get 11's across the board. The O2 sensor I changed because I was showing a rich condition on a previous CM code. That has since gone, it was the FPR. I haven't tried the vacuum gauge yet. What measurements would I look for? I am using motorcraft plugs and wires.
