Hello Everyone! I was wondering what hydraulic roller cam kits are recommended for our cars. I have heard mixed reviews about the ranger ones. My dad said back when he had his '86 SVO he always wanted the FMS M-6252-A230 roller cam kit. Does anyone have this kit nos? (I know I am pressing my luck!) What is available now that is similar to this kit?

There are a few companies making new cams and valvetrain parts for these cars. www.bo-port.com is probably the most popular. No one makes new rockers though so you'll be looking for good used ones or if you luck out you'll find a new one here or there. The Ranger cam can be found in junk yards still and you can usually get a good set of rockers from the same head. Boport has all kind of cams, just depends what you want to do.

I am going to do the same—swap existing cam for Ranger one. I found a new set of rollers as NOS on eBay for a good price, so they can be had. It’s not a kit, just individual rollers. What would be found in such a kit?

1987 Turbo Coupe w/T5OD, 8.8 axle, grey smoke; most options. Got it in 1991 with 41K miles: 3 turbos, 2 heater cores, 3 T5OD full rebuilds, 6 clutches, 1 head gasket, 2 Teves II ABS units, etc. later....
