Rims?

Good evening!

I'd like to get a different set of rims and tires for my '88 TC, and I'm curious as to what folks are using? It seems that the choices for 4 bolt / 107.95 rims are few and far between. Any recommendations and places to check out?

I've got a good set of Kelly Springfield performance tires on the Bird right now, but would like a set of raised-white-letter or outlined-white-letter tires to replace them. Anyone out there using RWL or OWL tires and if so, what brand?

Thanks!

I'm running the snowflakes and probably will be forever, as wheels aren't in my foreseeable budget. However, if I were to get some, I would probably go with Cobra R wheels, 16 would suffice, but maybe even 17s. Don't know where folks get them, but there are some pictures here in the member pictures.

4x108 unless you do a 5 lug swap. Most are running cobra r's....I own 2 sets of mesh wheels.
One set 15" black enkie's and one set on 16" ARE'S that will be powder coated to match my cars color.

There are not 2 many choices but enuff to find a really nice set of wheels.

Noooooooo! This place has different styles and look sick!! I just bought a set. I got the 17X8 and 17X10. I am going with the 245 45 17 up front and 275 40 17 in rear. I am lowered the car 1.5", otherwise I would have gone with the 315's . The second reason I did not go with the 315's is because this is not a "shelf type" tire. They are always special order, and I dont want to get stranded somewhere waiting for a special order tire with some clown holding me by the short hairs with a high price. 275/40/17 are always on the shelf and easy to find.

I got mine from replica wheels. They tossed in the lugs for free too.

Here is a 275/40/17's in the rear on one of my 17x10's there is no rub and the fit is good. The car is also lowered 1.5". I had him raise the other side just to see if it would hit and absolutley no rub. and tire looks good

Check out the gallery of cars to choose style and width of rims. They have what would have been 5 lug wheels in the past ONLY, and now in 4 bolt pattern!!

Rims are such a personal decision....

I don't think you can do better than Cobra R's...

i like when i see a car with a wheel that not a lot of people have, that have an offset that really makes them go well with the car, the wheels arent too big, and they function well with the purpose of the car be it drag racing or twistys.

I have an old set of 16" Enkei. I can't say I've ever seen another set though.

Eventually, I think I'd like to have mine redrilled to allow BMW wheels. There are a lot of nice BMW replicas out there, not to mention original "take-offs."

Shiny Side Up!
Bill
Wait, where does this go?
