Ride quality / spring questions

Hello. I need some opinions / experiences from people who've had lowering springs for a very long time. I've had Suspension Techniques springs on my 87 Turbo Coupe for the better part of 25 years. They lower the car 1.5 - 2". I know that conventional thinking would indicate that old springs sack out and get soft. However, my car has become race car stiff over time. It's finally unbearable and I've got to do something about it. When I push on the fenders, it doesn't seem super stiff, but it's absolutely ridiculous while driving. It's almost as if the springs won't react to the sharper edged bumps encountered on the road. I'm not talking about big bumps either. The type of bumps that cause my car to practically jump into the air should be be easily absorbed. The car is not even close to sitting on the bump rubbers. The shocks and struts at nearly new run-of-the-mill Monroe Sensa-Track. Nothing high performance at all. I've pulled the front struts and I can compress them by hand using the expected amount of effort. It was the same with the previous shocks and struts, but they needed replacing because a couple of them were leaking. The ride height is even and level all around as it's always been and there are no broken springs. The ride has gotten stiffer slowly over a period of time, but I kept telling myself I was wrong. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing with really old springs, or am I missing some other part of the puzzle? Either way, can anyone advise me which company makes lowering springs that are only a little stiffer than stock? I've got to get the ride back to something that's reasonable. Thanks, Damon
