Restoration / Restomod Sources

Has anyone been successful in finding restoration parts for the Turbo Coupes? I've got a 1988 Turbo Coupe with a cracked head. The car also needs additional work, such as rebuilding the front suspension, paint, window (side and rear) seals, taillight lenses, etc. And, it has Turbo Coupe electrical "gremlins". We've already spent a great deal of time and money on the car prior to cracking the head (water hose broke while in traffic and overheated). The car was fun to drive, and I would love to perform a restomod. However, before I sink any more money into the car I want to ensure that I can readily find the needed parts. Thus far, I have not been very successful in finding much. I'm really concerned about finding window gaskets, taillight lenses, wiring, etc. Has anyone successfully found these parts new?

Crack free heads are kind of hard to find, but are out there. You could always get an NA head and rework the chamber to resemble a turbo head.

Suspension parts (ball joints, inner / outer tie rod ends, steering racks, bushings, etc) are available anywhere. PRC shocks / struts are made of unobtainium.

Nearly no one makes any aftermarket body parts, headlights, tail lights, side markers, fenders, interior parts, etc. Either hit the JYs in your area or search the web for used parts.

I've set up a search on eBay for Turbo Coupe parts, which also includes Fox Body, Mustang and 2.3 Turbo search criteria, as many of those parts are interchangeable. Every day I get emails about items either as auction or Buy It Now listings. For the last 10-15 years this has been my primary source for parts, especially as the salvage yard option became less and less viable.

Advance Auto Parts has also been a great source for new parts that no one else seems to carry--even NAPA.

1987 Turbo Coupe w/T5OD, 8.8 axle, grey smoke; most options. Got it in 1991 with 41K miles: 3 turbos, 2 heater cores, 3 T5OD full rebuilds, 6 clutches, 1 head gasket, 2 Teves II ABS units, etc. later....
