Request for Front Upper Strut Mount information

(I originally posted this a few days ago, but for some reason it did not appear in the Forum; so let's try again....)

Hey all....

I'm looking for photos, drawings, diagrams, etc.--the more detailed the better--of the upper front strut mount (right or left should be mirror images, although I'm specifically looking to replace the left one) for a stock 1987 or '88 Turbo Coupe.

About 20 years ago I special ordered one from Pep Boys which turned out to be completely wrong. I have one unit that I pulled from a salvage car (looks hardly used), a newer but still lightly used one, and one that looks brand new. These last two look much different from the first (OEM) one.

Problem is, there doesn't seem to be an exact replacement for the OEM units (which is why I got the salvage one: to compare). I'm still using PRC and in fact have front and rear original replacement struts that I'll be putting on soon enough, so I want something as close as possible to OEM.

The Ford shop manual has a photo of a Mustang unit without gas charged struts. I'm looking for a better photo or drawing of one on a TC WITH gas charged struts (which I'm guessing should be all the stock ones).

Also: what experiences has anyone had with replacing this part? What was your source, etc.?

Thanks in advance.

No photos, but I replaced mine probably 10 years ago. The replacements (think I got them from NAPA or Carquest, dont remember the brand) didnt look quite the same but worked fine. I did have to space the PRC actuators up about 1/8" with washers so they wouldnt bind in the adjusters at the top of the PRC struts.

Probably not helpful to you, but the only time I've replaced the upper strut mount was with the Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plate. That one works quite well with standard shocks, but I don't know if it works with PRC's or not.
