Replacing Rear Brake Hoses 1988 TC

I am about to do a Brake "Maint and Upgrade" - Staying with OEM Calipers and Rotors ) on my 1988 TC
I have acquired all the correct Hoses ( Wagner ), Pads ( Hawk) new copper washers and DOT 3 Fluid necessary for the Complete project

I have read and re-read the Brake Bleeding Procedure for the Rear calipers and am reasonably comfortable with that aspect of the process.

Big Question -

Regarding the Rear Hoses - Are there any "Issues" I am facing with respect to the removal and re-install of the three rear hoses that I should be aware of ?

I have read and heard that the removal of the Main Brake Hose - From the Chassis hard line to the Rear Axel housing - can be a problem.

Car is low Original mileage, Under 34K, vehicle.

Brakes are good - But it is Obviously time to replace 25 year old hoses and serviceable pads on our Father and Son project.

Anything I should be prepared to deal with ?

Thanks

E. J.

Maybe soak the fittings with PB Blaster for a day before removing them, and be sure to use a hydraulic line wrench, not an open end wrench.. Other than that, its pretty straight forward.

Any line I do not reuse, I cut the hose off as close to the Nut on the hose as possible and use a 6 point socket and work it back and forth a bit. But certainly, get the proper Line wrench as Jeff mentioned.

Gentlemen:

Than you for your advice and input.

Fortunately after many years of working on my cars that big old Craftsman Rollaway in my garage has all the appropriate and correct tools needed for the job.

Good news is this is not my first Brake Job / Upgrade but it will be the first one I do on my TC.

I had planned on using a Penetrating fluid, my weapon of choice being Aerokroil which I have used for years, on the line fittings just before the Caliper clean-up and dis-assembly.

Again thanks for your help.

E. J.

Again my sincere thanks

I will take your
