Before everyone gets on my case regarding the "Search Function", I did one & found a weath of info, but none that will answer my question.
I'm working on the wifes 87 & will be replacing the clutch & associated parts. I was planning on having the original flywheel resurfaced & shimmed out, like I did on my 88, but I went to the local Napa & priced out a new Flywheel for around $49.00. Now that seems really cheap, so I went to another local auto parts store & they want $59.00 for a remanufactured one (they tend to be 15-20 % higher than NAPA). The cost to have it resurfaced is the same as the price for the Napa one. I know that S&R sells them for over $300, so I was wondering if the Napa one would be a wise choice. I plan on putting the Spec Stage 2/3 clutch system & I really don't want to spend that much for a flywheel. I figure that the car will at most reach 250 HP when I'm done with her. I don't plan of drag racing or anything like that, but will have fun on the street when I see a ricer. I'm sure that the NAPA one is an import from China or Twanian, so what do you guys think?
