Replace oil feed line?

I've got a huge oil leak that I'm trying to track down...I climbed up under the car and it seems to be coming from the T/C oil feed line. There was a drop of oil hanging on the bend right below the pressure sender, so I wiped it off, ran the car for 2 minutes, climbed back under and there was another drop about to drip. So, I think that's my leak.

Now my only questions are:
1. How hard is it to replace in the car?
2. Attack from the top or bottom?
3. Get the OEM part or get a braided steel one from Scott?

Thanks!

1. Ranks up there with pulling teeth - without novacane. See tip on pulling upper intake below - it's like having the novacane.

2. Bottom, unless you pull the upper intake. You can reach it from the bottom but it tough and it can take forever to get the new fitting started into the bottom side of the manifold in the head. I'd rather take the extra time to pull the upper. Get a 7/16"special wrench for working in lines. I forget the name of it but it's like
a 6 sided box wrench with an opening large enough fir the line to pass through then slide the wrench up on the fittin. Wes knows the name of them. Got a set at Sears. Lot less chance of rounding off the fittings

3. Your choice. I haven't seen Scotts. I know Dan got a braided one from somebody else, but it connected where the Galley plug is on the very back of the head - a real PITA.
Ford still has them new for around $15 - 20

Are you sure it is leaking from the fitting where the feed line hook up, or could it be leaking from the oil pressure sender and running down to the lowest point? If it is the fitting itself leaking, it may be loose. Maybe all it needs is tightening.

I'll pull the upper tomorrow and check it...I'm already gonna have the IC off to install my Gillis valve and BPV, so I'll just keep going. I hope it is just needing tightening down, I've got so many other projects to get done before carlisle that I'd rather be spending time on [Image: wink.gif] .
