Repairing a composite Intake Manifold???

It is possible to patch these things and feel OK about it? My wife's dad clobbered a deer, which pushed the radiator into the dipstick tube, which broke a quarter-sized piece of the intake off. This is in a PT Cruiser (N/A). I know the intakes are plentiful to get used, but I'd like to try repairing/patching it first if possible. I just don't want to do that and have the patch fail and enter the head. Any ideas???

i have done it before on fords. had a Taurus that clogged the cats and forced exhaust up the egr valve and melted the manifold. i used a 5min epoxy and sealed it up and gutted the cats to keep this poor fella going. he drove it another 3 months until he saved up and bout another car.

I went over to Pep Boys this past weekend and picked up a Quick Steel radiator/gas tank repair kit. All I used from it was the tube of 2-part epoxy putty. I removed the upper intake and put the putty on the inside and outside where the hole is, figuring that would make it nearly impossible to fall off. While the intake was off I stuck my scope down the runner and didn't see any plastic bits in there so I think they safely passed all the way through.
