Hey Guys,

I have been going through the bird and fixing some ods and ends. The armrest was broken, fixed it with Q-Bond (the stuff is amazing). I have one last thing that needs fixing, there is a speaker in the passenger door which doesn't work. I need to remove the door panel.... How would I do this without recking it, I don't want it mucked up since everything is mint/perfect at the moment.

Thanks,
Matt V

I have taken off mine a couple times to get to the speakers. There are a few small screws to remove as well as the door handle, then it's just a matter of using a trim removal tool to ry out the plastic fasteners. A little patience and you shouldn't hurt anything. You can even get new plastic fasteners to replace the originals. Just watch out for brittle plastic on the arm rest, I broke the one on my driver's side Undecided

Thanks for the Info RC Martin, I got the panel off and found the speaker to have oxidized terminals and was not making connection, fixed that and got the speaker back in.... But you know.... one thing leads to another. I have a set of power locks from a parts car I think its time to add to my bird since it doesn't have them. So while I have the door panel off I might as well attempt.

Good luck! I had considered doing that at one point, but I eventually decided I liked my crank windows and manual door locks :-)

Well everything is in !!! I decided to buy some new speakers which are installed and work great, I added the power locks(I just ran the wires into the car and will fixed that up later) and the door panels are back on good as new!!! I have to make sure this thing is ready for when school is out Smile
