I was wondering how difficult it is to take off and replace the header panel and front end. My sister owned the TC before me and got in an accident with it. So I am looking at one in the junk yard and wanted to know if i could replace it myself or should i have a pro do the repair? Any advice is appreciated. Thanx

Anthony,

If you're not too far from Cleveland, check this one out. It would save you from breaking one if you've never done it.

Hope this helps.

Easy stuff to do. But being an Ohio car you WILL end up backing some of the studs out of the mounts as well as snapping the heads off of some if not all of the bolts that go through the header and into the bumper on the inside.

Rick, so you know, That guy lives by me and he HUNTS turbo coupes. He buys perfectloy good running driving TC's and kills them. I have regreted buying seats from him since day one. It was right when I got my Tc and I never knew of him. Since then , I have seen him part out AT LEAST 25-30 turbo Coupes. Granted, I have parted out a couple , but the ones I did were MAJOR rust buckets! not a single savable body panel except for the hood and header on any of them. All except one had a bad automatic tranny also. I did part out one decent TC, but that was a Police impound that accidently fell into my yard as it was going to be crush per police order.

Ohio88TC, the is a maroon 88 TC at BJs junkyard onthe east side if u know what I am tlking about. The guys there want 175 for the bumper and header panel. I will call themwhen i get a chance betwenn school and work and see how much they want to take it off also. I dont wanna risk braking the studs and bolts and allthat crap. thanx much for the replys. When i get the front end the real desicion is if I should put it on my self.
