Removing ABS master questions

I just removed the original ABS master from our 87 TC. I noticed that there are actually 3 hydraulic lines . One for the rear which runs through the proportioning valve, one for the right front which also goes through the prop valve but the third goes to the left front directly from the master bypassing the prop valve. I put a booster and master from a 97 Mustang and have only 2 outlets to work with. My question is, can I just put a "T" in to split the front brakes? I really don't see any other way to do it.

I'm gonna have the same problem soon...doing similar swap...I've seen where there is a 2-to-3...or 3-to-2, piece or arrangement that people use, have seen/heard of it on here but haven't found it. On a slight side note...is your booster and MC going to fit in ok? I looked and looked for the right one to get but could not get a straight answer so I just went to NAPA and got a 93 Cobra MC and booster and I hope to h^%$ it works! Was just wondering if you had some other info as to why you picked a 97 for the swap...unless it was just the ever popular and intelligent..."thats what I had available...and it fits!"

The booster and master from a 97 Fits very nicely. You have to elongate the 2 holes in the firewall closest to the engine but it was very easy. I bought a like new booster and master for $75. It just seemed like the best choice after much head banging.

that looks good in there, much less confucing looking than the TC original. nice engine bay too. please post if they provide the stopping power needed for a 40,000,000 lb car. anyways, yes a ''y'' will work but you need to check the tolerances of the seals in the system, you may want to put that ''y'' off of the prop valve instead of the master.

Thanks for the picture, that is the first picture I've seen of an ABS swap. For whatever reason that makes mine seem much more doable. Would like you to post how it all works out with a pic. I'll try to do the same with mine. I want to try to put together something for the tech articles on this. I've looked around here and TurboFord and there is a lot of confusion on this subject.

Yes,
It worked out excellent! I just put a brass "T" coming out of the master going to the front brakes and it works perfectly!

That's great! Now...I know I'm asking a whole lot here...but my lazy ass is really hoping you can tell me the fittings and such that you used/parts list to make up the "T" so that everything screws back together. I'm really having a tough time as there are so many different thread types on the proportioning block and lines and M/C that I can't even figure where to start! Anything additional info you can give would be greatly appreciated.---Thanks Ralph

Well the "T" is standard 1/8" as well as the line for the front brakes. You will have to cut the lines to fit so just use the original nuts coming out of the prop valve. From the master to the prop I just used the old nuts with new lines. As far as the back brakes, using the same nut again you will need a 3/16 brake line and then you can just splice it in with a compression union (also use one for the right front brake line). Clear as mud? If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
