I wouldn't say ARP rod bolts are a must unless you are running some high boost levels, 20+. I would run a high volume pump, but only with a thinner synthetic oil such as 5w-30 or a 10w-30. The issue with the aux shaft is with the thicker weight oils such as the 20w-50 oils. Our cars do not need oil that thick and the thinner oils actually protect better due to better flow to the bearing surfaces than the thicker weights. As far as one of the better tested oils out there now is Quaker State 5w-30 full synthetic, it is my new go to oil choice after years of running Castrol oils.

Info back from machine shop. They said worst taper is 0.003 out. He says to bore it.

I was really hoping to just hone it and re-ring it and new bearings.

What do you guys think? Is 3 thou too much?

Thanks,
Adam

If it was me, I would just hone it and re-install pistons with new rings. Once you bore it, you are stuck looking for new pistons to install.
