Rebuild/repair PRC shocks

I have one bad PRC shock (driver rear) I think, when I stand back and look at the car from the rear it seems to sag on the driver side.
I measured from the top of the tire to the wheel well and it is a 1”-1/2” lower on the driver side.
I am pretty mechanical, so I am not afraid of fix things.

I assume you have carefully checked to be sure the spring isnt broken or that you dont have any other suspension issues? I have seen broken springs on some of my Fords over the years. They often tend to break right at the lower spring pocket and the break is hard to see unless you look very close. Are the rubber spring isolators rotten / damaged / missing? If so, get some polyurethane isolators for a FOX Mustang from Jegs, Summit, etc.

Shocks / struts on any car do not determine the ride height. Ride height is determined by the springs.

Many TCs tend to sit a little lower on the driver rear for some reason. It has been suggested that this may be due to the weight of the spare tire.

Hey thanks for the info!!!
I will check the springs and associated suspension parts.
I noticed the car shifting to the right when hitting pavement seams on the highway.
It’s like the body of the car moves to the right when I hit a seam.
Also will the PRC light flash if one shock has lost its gas charge?
Right now the suspension seams to be working fine.
Is it common for the windshield wipers to not work at all?

TBird, the front springs are kind of notorious for breaking, both of my fronts were rusted, broke in about the same place, replaced with some new fronts. Also, these Foxbody cars are very common with a foxbody lean. I replaced on my 88; both front springs, fronts struts, new iso, new control arm bushings, rear springs, rear shocks, new rear lower control arms, and I still have a difference in the wheel well gaps. it drove me nuts, till I looked online about and found that LOTS of Foxbodys have this strange lean. There was even a Ford fix for it that replaced the front drivers spring with a longer or stiffer spring to compensate for it. On mine I had to add a Steeda front spring spacer on the drivers side to bring it back to close even. Still not perfect, but closer.
Also, it is not normal for the wipers to not work, might have a bad multi function switch, check fuses, wiring, etc. Mine are a little finicky and I suspect the function switch needs a good contact cleaning

If the PRC FIRM light is flashing, the issue is usually a failing actuator that is either gummed up and not switching, or the SOFT / FIRM switch inside actuator that tells the PRC computer what mode the strut / shock is in is not making proper contact. Actuators can be taken apart and cleaned up, lubed, etc.

Somewhere around here there is a list of the PRC codes and their meanings, as well as info on refurbishing the actuators.

There is no pressure monitoring of the gas pressure in the shocks or struts.
