That's not much info to go on? What was knocking? How many miles? Did you do compression or leak down tests.Did you do any other testing? How hard/loud was it knocking? Are you sure it wasn't an exhaust leak, they sometimes can sound like a knock. How much oil pressure does it have?

ok it has about 300k on it and yes its missing and it did get very hot cuz the guy i bought if off of reframed from tellin me that the heater hose had a leak.. not only that but it was pinging cuz i found the knock sensor BROKE OFF!! and yes i only heard it when it was reved at a steady rpm and at idle which is hard since its missing. and when i took it apart the 1/2 gasket was blown between those cyclinders.. SO that tells me that the head gasket blew but doesnt tell me y it was knockin and i really dont want to slap a new gasket on if its knockin. So when i start it when its done its knockin ya kno...

Between which 2 cylinders--- was the HG blown? Someone recently posted that a blown HG between 2 particular cylinder can sound like a knock. But with 300K on an overheated engine, anything could be knocking. With 300K on it, it's time is limited.
I would recommend either a complete rebuild (not just bearings) or look for another engine.
