Rear view mirror (solution..)

I feel like an idiot... lol

I spent maybe 20 minutes, tapping and hitting and tugging at my rear view mirror on my '87 trying to get it off of the mounting piece. I needed it off for my '88. I figure since the tranny has to come out I'd go ahead and start the interior swap. I plan on swapping heater boxes too. Luckily they are the same (EATC). This is gonna be a bitch [Image: biggrin.gif] I love it!

Anyway, there is an allen key on the thing! You have to slip it backwards where the slant is and it fits in.. Its a tiny allen wrench and it unscrews it [Image: biggrin.gif]

I'm going to be fixing the dash with a repair kit, painting the whole interior, swapping windows ('88 has a few cracked ones w/ no tint), polishing wheels, priming, sanding, pulling dents, putting new body parts on, the whole nine yards [Image: biggrin.gif]

Believe it or not, force on that could result in a cracked windshield. So you was lucky, if you wanted to save the windshield. i've seen, and heard of, that happening.

Hard to believe since i've had to reglue more than a few of those mounts back onto the windshield since they sometimes fall off over time, with the weight of the mirror and heat.

Yeah, I was scared of cracking it so I was just tapping it to try and break the glue, with no luck. I do happen to be keeping my windshield lol
