When I am switching a 8.8 from a 88 into my 86 bird and I just decide to run my drum brakes. Do I use my same axles off the 86?

I believe you can if you want to.

I took the sensor rings off of the 88 axles (which was a real PITA to do,) and used 1983 Tbird raised hat drums when I did mine. It pushes the rear wheels a little further out (about an inch per side), which I think looks a bit better.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mike! Got your email. Yeh, I just want to do the simplest way as possible. I found a rear end with the axles out already, so I was just wondering if I could do a quick swap and retain the same wheel spacing. You have seen how big my rear tires are and they are already rubbing ontight corners, so I think the 83 drums and axles would be a problem. You agree?
