1987 TC...
According to the parts numbers posted here, the rear brake caliper pins are part #E7SZ-2B296-A which on the ford parts website translates to the superseded part number of 1f1z-2321-ca. I ordered two (one for each side) but what I got were two different items each with the same motorcraft part number on the box (brpk-5600-a / 1f1z-2321-ca)
Both parts are in bags, one has number 73821078 and contains two caliper slider bolts. The parts referenced on here indicate there should be bolts, rubber caps and grease. This box only had the one bag with the two bolts.
The other box (same part number) has a bag number of 73844160a and contains four 1" bolts, 4 black rubber accordion style 1 inch sleeves and four sheet metal brackets/shim type part.
It appears as each part is incorrect or incomplete. Does the kit now only contain the pins or should there be grease and rubber caps included? The box with all the other items must be incorrectly boxed... just need to know what I should have... only pins?

Sounds like the second bag contains bolts for two caliper anchor plates, boots for two calipers and anti-rattle springs for the pads on both sides. Possibly there should have been four pins in the other box. The 2B296 refers only to the pins. The 2321 part number may refer to a brake parts kit for both back wheels although that's just a guess on my part.

The Ford dealer finally received another box last week. Talk about back-order! It seems that the kit now consists of the rear brake springs (4), rubber boots (4) and caliper bolts (4) as that is what was shipped. He did say he would contact ford and have a QC done on the part number.
I did do the rear brakes yesterday, and the parts worked fine... it was a little tight trying to get the pads in with the springs (Raybestos - filed the ends a bit), used new caliper mounts, only one pin was frozen and had two from the first shipment so it all went together just fine .
So only one kit is needed for the rear, get the caliper pins elsewhere...

Well today I received a box with two pin kits from the dealer... It seems these are what was expected in the first place! Each bag is part # e7sz-2b296-a "pin kit" and contains 2 pins, 2 bolts and 2 rubber grommet (squishy things) w/lube.
Not sure what I got, but neither kit was like these... one had 2 pins, the other had the springs, bolts and grommets/lube.
So... you will need two kits, one for each side.

I guess that your 06-04-2007 post kit is an "anchor" kit, was there a part number on that? The pin kit #E7SZ-2B296-A is a valid part number and not superseded by the other part number as in your first post so I wonder what the other part number refers to, two pins alone or to the anchor kit. If you wanted to do the complete brakes, including the anchors you would need two pin kits and one anchor kit with four boots and one lube tube left over?

Yes, looks like the parts would be duplicated as far as the boots, bolts and lube if you got the anchor kit and 2 pin kits.
The first parts came in a box (red/white motorcraft) with a clear bag with the referenced number from post #1 on the bag... the pin kits came in a bag only with the Ford logo and e7sz part number.
The two pin kit bags are different looking, but both have the same parts and both are made in Brazil.

Recently, I installed Mark VII calipers on my TC. I ordered "Loaded" calipers from NAPA, which included everything mentioned above and the brake pads. Compared to all the labor of rebuilding and chasing parts, "Loaded" calipers are a bargain.
