rear brake pad replacement

I'm putting new brake pads on the rear of my
88 and I can't get the calaper braket to accept the calaper. It's to wide? So I screwed the bolts in on the braket. But now they are to far in and when I bolt the calaper to it the pads are crooked. And I can't get the bolts back out.

Did you possibly put the bracket on backward? I just did mine today, and when you bolt the bracket on with the bigger 15mm bolt on the back, it looks upside down or something. I don't know how to explain it, it just looks weird. What bolts can't you get back out?

The bolts that hold the caliper to the braket. The spot where the bolts go are a 15 mm bolt also. But the bolts are to far out and the caliper will not clear them.

I can't really picture what you are saying. The 15mm bolts are the ones that hold the bracket to the axle. The bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket are 10mm. These bolts don't come into contact with anything; they just stick out of the back. If you mean the head of the 15mm bolt is sticking out of the back of the bracket too far, then you are not screwing the bolt in far enough or you have changed the bolt to one that is too long. Since the hole in the bracket goes straight through, if the bolt you are using is too long, then it would screw in far enough to hit the rotor, so I can't really see that being your problem either. Any chance you can get a pic of the problem? I'd like to see the bolt that you can't get past.
