what size is the line that comes from the master and goes to the rear?
1988 Turbo Coupe 5 speed Red with Red cloth interior, K&N cone filter, Ported IHI turbo, ATR Header ported, Manual Boost Controller at 18 psi.

2013 Focus ST 2.0 Turbo, Buschur green filter, OCD Speed axle back exhaust.

autozone keeps saying its a metric line

The line is 1/4 inch. But the fittings could be metric or american. Some Camaro's are built with both. The fittings come in many configurations on the metric side. Its been a while since i relined a coupe. But just pull off a fitting and check the size and pitch to get the correct fittings. Personally i make all my lines by hand to an exact size. Also their are metric BUBBLE fittings as well as inverted flair. I know the 89 Mustang i am doing is inverted flair and not metric. I just finished replacing all the brake lines on it.Hope this helps and have a great morning Sir

Sounds like you are replacing a rusted out line? If so pull the fittings and bring them to the parts store. Have them use an adapter fitting to check the threads and give you the correct line that you need.

If the fittings dont have the nut rounded off from removing them and are in good shape, you can just reuse them. That is assuming you make up your own lines to the exact length needed and double flare them after you put the old fittings back on the new line. Just remember to put the fittings on the line before you double flare them.... I have done that several times Sad

well got the new line on and now no fluid to the rear... i already tried everything posted on here about that so... i have no idea whats going on

Sounds like your Proportioning Valve PIston In the Brake Combination valve is stuck to one side! PITA! for a description this is a reasonable link. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-parts...brake2.htm

Just read the section about Pressure Differential and Proportioning. Forget about the Metering section.
If this is the case, I have come up against this before, and got the Valve piston to center by doing the following.
Go to the FAQ section on NATO to BRake Bleeding. PRep the car as described, fluid full etc. BUt rather than going all the way to the back brake bleeders, foloow the lines from the ABS system down to the Valve. Located about the Drivers Footwell under the car. Easy to locate, has the brake lines running to it as well as the Warning LIght Wiring. Follow the rear brake line into the valve, not the line to the back brakes back the line that gos into the valve, then to the back brakes. Losen the line off into the valve from the ABS sytem and follow the bleeding procedures as outlined for the rear brakes system. Instead of opeing and closing the Bleed screws, you will have to open and close the Fitting on the Valve. THis will make sure you have good fluid flow to the valve. Once this is done, and the lines are tight to the rear, then, loosen one of the front Brake bleed screws just enough to allow a bit of pressure bleed, not a lt. Make sure the igniton is on and the brake pump has run and your system is up to pressure. Push the brake pedal once or twice with a bit of force. Do not Push it all the way to the floor. More like a good strong tap ot two. If you push it all the way down slowly, chances are you will shift the piston in the valve to the front section, blocking it off. Do Not Ask me how I know!!! Hopewfully, the quick tap or two will have built enough pressure on the piston to center it back in the valve body. I had to do it twice on mine to get it to go back into place. IF it does not work, you prette well have to take the valve out and poush the piston back to center by hand.
An easy way to see if the valve is centered is to hook a test light or Multi meter to the wires on the Valve. Check the reading before you try centering, then have a look to see if it has changed after you attempt to center the valve.
I can't remember if the the Switch in Normally Open or clsed. Perhaps someone with a wiring diagram can jump in.
Stock 87, no mods, Black with the grey interior.
Boost High, Fly Low

Gentelmen Ford does not use a spring loaded shuttle valve. This means it must be held in its center position. This is the tool that centers most ford preasure differential valves. Over the years of working with cars you come to know that the tools make it much easir. Ford uses for the most part a ground to turn on the light but some use a two wire switch. I am not shure of the exact wiring of the TC with ABS. If needed i will pull the prints up on my all data. But i am almost positive the switch closes the wires together and does not use a ground from the balance valve. Either way this little tool is just the ticket to center and keep the valve centered during repairs. Hope this Helps Thank you and have a wonderful afternoon.
