Rear Axle swap

I'm getting ready to swap an 88 8.8 rear end with 3.73's. I placed my 15" 10 hole wheels on ahead of time to check caliper clearance before proceeding. What I found was that the lugs are shorter, so I'll need to get longer ones, but I also found that my wheels aren't setting on the hub ring, because the 15" wheels are beveled on the back of the hole and the axle hubs don't project out as far as the hubs on the axles with drums on my 7.5" rear end.

Am I right? Has anyone else used 15" 10 holes on 8.8 axles and rotors? Eventually I will go to a bigger wheel, but not yet, unless......

I have seen 10 holers on 87-88TC. There is one forsale in Michigan with that combo. I would assume the rear end is still original. It should work.

I used 87 axles and an 83 drum set up with my ten-holes on an 8.8 from 87.

Did any of the above responders find that their lug bolts too short for the 10 holers? Thanks.

Couple of years ago I had my 235/60-15 BFG drag radials on a pair of turbine wheels. The stock lug nuts that came with the car where not long enough to bolt the turbines on. I got longer LN not been a problem sense.

My 87 came with 15" ten holers and the lugs are the same size as the ones on my 88.

The studs on my rear do look a bitt short for peace of mind to me. I would install a wheel and make sure I had a full nut on the threaded portion of the stud. Any less and most states won't let it pass safety inspection.
