Be aware that the axle is likely chewed up at the bearing (bearing rollers ride directly on the axle). If so, you will need to use an axle saver bearing or get a new axle.

Do you know how to remove the axle? If not, let us know. (Its easy assuming the diff pin retaining bolt doesnt snap off when trying to remove it)

Have never removed a axel on this car. did one on a 72 Ranchero. All I have is the crappy manual you get @ O rileys auto parts, It does not mention a retaining bolt, Ok.. Does not sound too bad, Thanks a lot guys.

Remove diff cover and remove rear wheel(s) and brake rotor. The diff pin is the big shiny 1" or so in diameter cylinder going thru the carrier. There is a small bolt (8 mm head??) you must remove to get the diff pin out. With bolt out, diff pin should slide out easily. Push axle as far in as it will go. Now remove the "C" clip from the end of the axle. Best done with a magnet or long nosed needle nose plyers. With C clip removed, Pull the axle out. Replace bearing and maybe axle if chewed up. Reassemble in reverse order.
