I was watching an episode(rerun) of realTV and saw a 145 MPH police chase involving some european police car (civic hatchback thing?)chasing an XR4TI that was MOVING!. Hope someone else saw it too, it was cool to see a 2.3 turbo burning up the law (without an intercooler at that).

If that chase was from Europe, the car was probably Ford Sierra Cosworth. Merkur XR4TI is actually rebadged Ford Sierra with 2,3 engine which has not been availiable in Europe.

European Cosworth Sierra has 2,0 liter 16 valve turbocharged (with front mounted IC) engine with around 230 horsepower, depending on year model. Cossie Sierra was also availiable with four wheel drive, and was used as a successful rally car many years in 80's and 90's

the Merkur was probablly modded then, 'cuz in the straights, it would walk off from the cop car at high 130's
