Rattle at constant engine speed.

I got my TC out yesterday for a cruise around and noticed a rattling noise under no load. It goes away under throttle and coast down, but at constant engine speed it shows up. Thought it may be the trans but it does it in every gear.

Check the heat shield around the cat converter. They can rust loose and rattle.

Lost count of how many converter shields I have and to quiet down on Fords over the years. If it is rattling due to a broken weld, etc, just put a big worm drive hose clamp around it and tighten it down.
