RANGER BLOCK

can someone please answer these simple questions please. has anyone put in a 98 or 99 ranger block? are all of the bolt holes for all mounts and brackets the same. I know that the block is taller than the bird block but by how much? is it considered a svo block(this meaning a tall deck).will the tranny bolt right up?
i understand the bird block is very tough and very derable, but why stroke out the 2.3 when i can start with a taller deck and longer stroke with the 2.5. and build an even more bitchen motor. hope someone has some answers. let me know i can pick one up this weekend.

I think the 2.5 Ranger is just a longer stroke crank, not a taller deck.

So your saying that if I put a 98-99 ranger crank in my car that it will change the stroke to 2.5?
