I finally found one (had to buy whole head)roller cam!
Stuck it in last nite and my valve timing must be out.
I used the gear that came with the Ranger Cam.
Is that OK to do?
My car is running, but not much power and is popping slightly when I rev it(after I let off the gas)
Should I change timing sprockets or just retard or advance timing?
Thanxs anyone!

The RR sprocket should be OK. Recheck the cam timing and then the ignition timing

Hey Pete, I just ckecked the cam timing .I tried retarding it 1 tooth and really screwed something up.Would'nt run at all, so back to TDC.Still would'nt run.
Ignition timing should not have changed rite?
I'm really starting to wish I had left stock cam and running the way it was.

Gary, are you sure you didn't get the Aux Sprocket/Dist off 180 deg's ???

Am I tired.I got it figured out.That dist sprocket sure can make a difference eh?
I tweaked my timing by ear and the engine came to life once again.

Makes me wonder what an adj cam gear could do for accurate valve timing?

Tomorrow (today) I'll stick a lite on it and set it rite.
Then I can post the results of my RAGING ROLLER.
Maybe I'll piss off some of those guy's on the other board.LOL

It is almost a given that the distributor sprocket will turn a little when ever cam timing is adjusted. Checking/resetting the ignition timing should be considered part of the procedure.

Ya, I guess.
So what happens with a distributorless ignition like my 95 Ranger?
I'm almost relcutant to do a belt on it now.

For Denny;I realize most of you are over there too, but these guy's here don't get pissed over something as trivial as cam's on this board.
