Radio and Antenna Questions

When I first got my TC, only the front speakers worked with the aftermarket stereo that had been installed and the amp was lying half disconnected in the trunk. In addition, the right and left signal on the front speakers was reversed. The system was also not holding any memory, so I'm guessing constant power wasn't properly hooked up.

I ran new wire to the rear speakers, and corrected the left/right signal on the front speakers. Everything was working great, until...

When driving and listening to the radio, I noticed my signal wasn't very strong, and also noticed that I hadn't put my antenna all the way up. When I hit the switch for the antenna, I heard a pop and both the antenna and the radio went dead.

The fuse for the radio was blown, and I replaced that, but no go. Before I go outside and freeze tracking down wires, can anyone recommend some common places to look that would knock out both the radio and antenna?

I don't have a wiring diagram in front of me, but are you sure the radio and the antenna are on the same circuit? It seems like they should have separate fuses. Is anything else dead, or is it only the radio and antenna?

Only the radio and the antenna. The diagrams I have show them going to the same fuse, but other than that, I haven't had time to properly trace the diagrams to find other common points that could bring them down.

For future users who might run into this...

Got the stereo partially working. Tried another fuse and it came right on. The other fuse looked ok, and I never heard it pop, but it may have been slightly faulty from the start.

There is still some short of a short in the antenna circuit, as the fuse blows out every time I push the power antenna button. That should be a fun one to find...
