Radiator Fan problem

I have been having a siiue with my fan in which it periodically kicks on when it feels like it. I cleaned the contact as best I could, but there is still alot of green corrosion in it. So for now when the car gets hot I switch on the AC and the fan kicks on as long as the AC is on.

I went ahead and ordered a new temp sensor and pigtail.

BUT WAIT!!! THERES MORE!!!
Today when I started the car, the fan kicked on immediately and the car wasnt even warmed up! When I pulled the key out of the ignition the fan continued to run! I opened the hood and unplugged the temp sensor and it still kept running! I have been driving most of the day disconnecting the battery when I make long stops. PITA!!! This has been going on for 8 hours and all of a sudden the fan decides it will cut off when I pull the key out of the ignition, and has gone back to operating normally.

What is the friggin possible problems. I know it cant be the sensor because I unplugged it and the fan kept running. It wont stop until I disconnect battery.

Help!!

Is this the Volvo fan? Could it be an internal wiring problem? I don't know...

It cant be the fan. I used the wiring from the stock fan, so the fan is using the existing TC power.

After looking at the EVTM, I feel as though it would almost have to be the relay since the Orange/Black wire TO the relay is hot at all times. Looks as though that's the only wire in the whole cooling fan system that is hot at all times? Could be wrong though...

The relay contacts welded themselves closed. It happens and replacing the relay is the answer. You can install a clamping diode across the contacts to stop that.

OK. I replaced the stock relay behind the glove box, installed new pigtail to temp sensor, installed new sensor, and now I have a new issue.

As soon as I turn the key the fan kicks on, and this is when I start the car cold. I assume the temp sensor stays open until it heats up and then sends message to relay in glove box. If this is correct, does it mean my new temp sensor is bad or is there something else I should look for?
