Compressor Clutch Control & Cooling Fan Has a circuit board they are still available or if not you can make one very easily. Their is a separate cooling fan switch on those cars. It is most likely stuck closed. I think the switch is in the lower intake at the rear of the engine. Early fans have a separate sender for the fan. Late models use the ECT along with the IRCM. Hope this helps

well then I guess it's time to return that switch! I don't know what else could possibly cause that if it turns off when you disconnect the switch.

OK guys. I took the car for a long drive today. Started smelling something burning but it was hot out so I thought it might be outside, WELL IT WASNT!! On my way back I look down and there is smoke pouring out the vents and under dash!! OHH F BOMB!! I'm on FIRE!! I pull off the closest exit, and run through a four way stop and pull out my trusty extinguisher. I see the smoke coming out from under the glove box. Relay is burnt to hell.

Now my tripminder wont come on, radio is dimm, and of course my AC wont work. I ran a switch to fan for now, but this problem has to be fixed asap!

Do you guys think it would be OK to remove wire 1 and 5 all together, and just keep using my toggle switch for fan and universal fan switch?

Why don't you just run a stand alone controller and eliminate all that crap altogether? Like this one...

Well some thing is drawing to much CURRENT and its the FAN !! That burnt out relay says it all. What i would do is check the current draw that relay module controls. That would be the engine fan. One of the reasons i design circuits with heavy duty Relays and Maxi fuses is to eliminate what you are experiencing. Clearly the connector or the controlled circuits are drawing to much current, Read the current draw and then design the circuit. What type of fan do you have?? And does it draw the same as a stock fan?? If it draws more naturally you will need heavier wiring and a heavier relay. I would separate the two circuits. The fan and AC fan command relay this will eleminate heating up the combo relay module. Get a current reading and verify the component is not drawing excessive current. One of the things i do is use an CONDENSER fan setup as a cooling fans. They move tuns of air and draw reasonable current. They are used to cool remote AC box units and i use them in pairs. Wired completely separate relay controlled circuits. Good luck on your repair

I install several BE COOL DUAL fan setups that cost like 2 GRAND and burn up the inline fuse holders. I just repaired one from another shop that overheated a very expensive engine. Never put all your eggs in one basket. Good luck.
