I need help guys. My car is running like crap. All timing components are correct, but when i put the Spout on, the timing jumps to about 30 or greater at idle. I'm getting alot of pre-detonation. The car seriously runs better without the spout.
I've been checking it out for 3 weeks now, and no clue. I will take any suggestions. Next weekends task will be to replace all the 2 miles of vacuum hose.
Thanks

The timing is suppose to jump 20* +/- 3* over the base setting (10*) when the sprout is put it.
What was the last thing done to it BEFORE it started running bad?
What have you done since?
What codes did you get, by number?

Any chance that you changed the timing belt. I had mine off by one tooth and it would ping at idle.

About 2 months ago, i had changed the timing belt. It ran for about a month perfectly and great! But then, these things started happening...boooo!
The problems came out of nowhere really....i drove it for 30minutes, then took a nap...came back outside and it started acting up
I've re-checked the timing, as well as belt position and all looks fine.
I just ran the codes....and i only got the usual 25.
PLEASE HELP! TURBO FRUSTRATION!

Try running the fuel system diagnostics. Maybe it's going lean on you if you are getting detonation.
