I guy I work with recently bought a '90 vette auto. Ever since he got it I had been hinting about racing. Well, he finally bit today. At lunch, we went out to do a race from what I thought would be a dig. When we pull out on the road he just keeps going at a slow roll (8-9 mph). He honks 3 times and goes. I wasn't real ready and going to slow for quick boost so he just up and leaves me pretty good. I bitch to him about it and he agreed it wasn't a real good race and does want to rematch from a dig. But, right before work got out, I asked him if he wanted to do a quick roll race on the highway. He was up for it. We went from about a 60 roll. I put it in 3rd which put me at about 4k so I could roll on boost pretty quick. He left it in drive(mistake) and when we went I jumped him a car length while his car downshifted. Anyways, I held that car length on him until he let off a little over a 100. I thought for sure he would've went on by me but he never did. Great feeling! The only mods his vette has is a K&N and a hole cut in his airbox. His car has factory 2.59 gears! Ugh! But at least I can say I beat a vette (even though we're pretty even). A quick search revealed those auto vettes were low to mid 14 cars. Wish I had a video for that one.

i believe that you beat a vette. like u stated they are only mid 14s or high 13s at best. i kno a few guys in 5.0stangs, 2.3tbirds and 3.8 SCs that have all beat vettes, its funny to see a guy who spends 50K on a vette be beat by a guy rollin in at 5k car ROFL. ok well lets say 8k for the sake of arguments lol.

He's talking about doing the rematch this weekend. When we race again, I'll do my best to get a vid. BTW, he only paid $4400 w/ 14x,xxx miles. The car is in pretty good condition. Of course, I only paid $400 for mine. Not so good condition though.

yeah for a 90 model you can get them cheaper. im talking about the newer ones, well like 2000-up, people pay like over 50k for them NEW and get beat on by a tbird and they get mad lol. i always saw it as i could spend the 50k somewhere else and make a car go faster, but i guess you dont get the lux that comes with a corvette. but im an oldschool kinda guy anyways Wink

It's more fun winning if the guy's a jerk. If he's a nice guy, then it's not quite as sweet. Well, at least not to his face anyway. Good luck on the rematch!!
