hey tubot-bird
I feel you pain. I did something similar to the wifes car this summer. My first wreck, but not the first ticket. It looked like the first picture above except on the drivers side. I went under the back of a Neon at about 15 mph or less. The Neon was almost undamaged. No one was hurt, no air bags deployed either.
Thankgod for insurance!!! I had also thought about dropping full coverage. The car was fixable and the body shop even said maybe 2k to do the job, but my insuarnce company choose to total the car. I didn't like it one bit until they gave me the figure. It was an 11 year old caddy with 115k miles and they gave us about 3k more than I could have sold the car for in addition to a $800 rental mini van. That was my personal learning experience on Insurance, which I hope to never have to use again. In the long run I'm sure I've paid more in than they had to pay out.
