Hey everyone, my girlfriends's 5.0 88 t-bird auto just lost it's fuel pump. I have an extra fuel pump out of my 88 Turbo Coupe 5spd. Will they exchange. The one I have is 110lph. Thanks for your help in advance...

No takers on this? I know it's a 5.0, but someone here must know the answer. I know the auto parts store would tell me "no, they wont interchange" just so they could make a few bucks, but I thought someone on this board would know. Please, it's kinda urgent.

Yes, the pump itself will fit, but I am not sure if the whole pump / flange assy will drop in as the fittings on the flange may be different. I know the fuel line fittings on my 88TC and 86 Tbird 5.0 are different. I have a 110 lph Walbro pump (i.e., for a 5.0 Mustang) in my 86 tbird 5.0, and I was able to get it to fit with minor mods to the rubber isolator in the mounting bracket.

The only 5.0 T-bird pump assembly I have seen is a '87. It had a larger Bosh pump, so the rubber insulator was different. But otherwise they appeared identical.

Thanks for the advice guys, I swapped the whole assembly out and it runs fine. I don't know for how long, but for now it's fine. But the rubber seal around the fuel filler is leaking now. It almost never ends...
