I pulled the codes KOEO yesterday got

81:thermactor air diverter solenoid circuit failure or electro-drive fan circuit failure or intake air control valve circuit failure or boost solenoid circiut failure.

14:the electronic control assembly has detected an intermittent loss of PIP signal during recent operation

42: EGO sensor, voltage always rich

41: EGO sensor, voltage alwasy lean

Then I pulled the codes this morning and only got
81 and 11

While pulling the codes the passenger fan was always running it did not quit until I disconnected the scanner. I replaced the passenger fan about 6 months ago the old one was locked up.

Which codes did you get for KOEO and which codes did you get for the CM codes, the 2nd part of the KOEO code report?

Did you unplug the scanner while it was reporting codes? I'm guessing you did if you got an 11 for the CM this morning

Did you drive the car before pulling the codes this morning?

The fan normally runs during the KOEO and CM code reporting.

Do you still have the factory boost control solenoid hooked up electrically?

Did you clear the codes before the last test?

The only codes i'd really look into are your Codes 41/42 which i'm guessing is the Continuous memory codes. If you cleared the EEC after your first time getting the codes, then that explains why those codes may not have returned into the Continuous memory. Of course, it's also possible the problem is just intermittent.

Which leads into having two different codes (rich and lean) such as this. You either have a circuit issue with your oxygen sensor, or a faulty oxygen sensor, or a possible VAF that is sticking and not reading the correct air flow at times. You will want to look into that one.

By the way, the primary (passenger) fan operation is normal while performing the EEC codes. You should have also seen the secondary fan briefly kick on at the beginning of the test, but that fan does not run throughout the rest of the test like the primary fan does.

The KOEO code was the 81. The CM was the 14,41&42 yesterday.

I pulled the codes both days after driving home from work about 15 min away. So the car was at operating temp.

Today after the CM codes came up as 11 I pulled the codes again just to make sure and it came up the same.

The stock boost controller is disconnected.

I did not clear the codes. Just drove to work last night, came home and pulled the codes again this morning.

But you disconnected the scanner while in operation (if i'm reading your comment right about the fan not shutting off until your removed the scanner). Disconnecting the STI circuit while the EEC is outputting codes will clear that.

Also, it's possible that those codes were very old codes and the EEC cleared them as the conditions had not reappeared for quite some cycles.

Others have reported code 81 when the BSC is disconnected.

Even though you did not get code 41 & 42 again, you still might want to check on that as it's possible it is an intermittent circuit or oxygen sensor, or a VAF that is sticking. Those things can cause driveability issues.

i also should have asked about your ignition system to result in the PIP code. Do you have Motorcraft plug wires? Cheap automotive wires can cause this code. This code is fairly common.

I dont remember disconnecting the scanner until I was done. But I may have.
If I get time tomorrow I will pull them again. Its my day off but I have to watch my little girl while my wife is at work.

How do you check the O2 sensor and the VAF.

The plugs and wires are both Motorcraft.

I really don't have any problem with the way the car drives. I just pulled the codes to see if there was anything that I needed to be looking at to repair.
