Hi all, Im new to the board and had a quick question. I just bought a 1985 Cougar XR-7 she has 150,000 on the clock and still runs fantastic. The front end how ever need some attention. I got the PST polygraphite front kit for it and had a couple questions if anyone out there has installed one. Who makes a good spring compressor for these cars? Mine is to bulky for it. Once I get the Control arms off I know that the Ball joints press in, can this be done at home, or am I off to a machine shop. The bushings for the control arms come with the sleves, do these press in and out too?? Any help would be great, so I know what im getting into. Thanks Sean [email protected]

The ball joints can be pressed in and out using a screw press (ball joint tool that looks like a big c-clamp). You could probably use the same press to put in the control arm bushings, or a soft mallet.
