Probe Location for TPS Adj

I read through the FAQ on TPS adjustment but still have one quick question. Where on the wires are you attaching the probes? My wires have no exposed places to hook a probe. Are you peeling back the insulation? Your help would be appreciated.

Use a paper clips or hat pins or sewing needles and slide them along side the correct wires in the connector. Slide them in until they reach bare wire and clamps
