i'm having trouble locating parts for my CCE-34. i mainly need an exhaust wheel, since it's missing the ends of a few of the blades, thanks to the previous owner's demolished valve seat. need a bearing/seal kit, as well, since it's starting to develop a bit of shaft play. i've emailed and left messages with precision, but i never hear a word back. i know they discontinued the turbo sometime in mid-2012, but i can't imagine them discontinuing the parts for them so soon.

Funny, after i post this, precision finally returns my email. They want me to send them my turbo and pay them to rebuild it. But get this. THEY DON'T GIVE ESTIMATES. They want me to ship it to them, in order to receive an exact amount. Really? No thanks! Here's the email i recieved:
We do not sell component level product to anyone. If you are having an issue with a Precision turbo it will need to be sent in for inspection. If you would like to send it in for inspection, you will need to go to our web-page. Under contact it will say shipping and returns. Click on that and fill out the Return form. Once that is completed call in to get an RGA number. Once you have all that put the paper in the box with the turbo and ship it to us. Please note we don't give any estimates for a repair. Once we receive it we will inspect it and call you with an exact total.

This is just ridiculous! they will probably tell you that the center cartridge is junk! isshh that looks like a expensive fix!i wonder how much it's going to cost you to ship, and for them to re-ship! after you tell them to F### off with there estimate.

I'm not wasting my time. I guarantee their turn-around time is longer than 2 weeks, which is all i plan on having the car down for, when i do my folvo swap. i'll actually looking into having the cartridge machined, to make it ball bearing. I'm finding all sorts of rebuild kits for the ball bearing garretts and precisions. So it would be a double win, in the end.

I went thru the same thing when a screw went thru my motor, tearing up the exhaust wheel on my SC6262. No parts availability. Precision said it could cost $600-$750 to fix it. On a $900 turbo, that is a total loss in my book.
I really didn't want to go back with Precision for that reason, but didn't want to have to redo any of my I/C or exhaust piping to fit a different turbo either. In the end, I wound up buying the ball bearing version of the SC6262 and stepped up from the .63 to the .82 exhaust housing. Oh well, at least the car picked up ET and mph over the old 6262.

I'd be all for replacing mine with a bigger/better unit, but i haven't even had this 1 a year and the previous owner only had it 3 months before he sold it to me. I've been searching my butt off to see if anyone has converted any of the CCE-34 series units to ball bearing, but most seem content with it as-is. I'm going to stop by a local import performance shop who sells PT products to see if they have any of the BB rebuild kits, to compare shaft size and etc, to see how plausable the conversion is.

Precision Turbos....they have been around for a long time.
Quality = money I dont like the fact the repair is 85% cost of a new one. The no estimates policy is interesting...
I have had quality turbos and cheap china turbos.
They have all worked and lasted. Its up to you. Our turbos are pretty easy to change, verse other cars. When it comes to turbo really lasting a long time, there is no guarantee! So why spend the big money?
Just my $.02
